Food Poison in Pekalongan

Pekalongan: Two children in Yogyakarta died of food poison at Sardjito Hospital Monday, raising to 15 the number of deaths caused by the disease in the last four moths. “They were very ill when they arrived. We did our best.” The head of the hospital’s doctor, Mumun Islamiati, said on Tuesday.

Komarudin Harahab said there had been a significant increase in the number of food poison patients at the hospital in recent months. In January, 17 patients were treated at the hospital, 25 in February and 58 in March.

An Indonesian minister of healthy was later to describe it as the worst food accident in Pekalongan.
